I got my second 16g at best buy! My second - their last. $199
Picked up 2 one for me and the wife, dont get to play with it until christmas though :(
I just ordered mine today and cannot wait until it comes in later this week! I can't Bridge because I have an iPhone 4, but my tablet decision was down to this or the Kindle Fire and I find the PlayBook to be a MUCH better device, even with it's shortcomings.
Got mine at best buy last one of the 16left and only had one more left that was a 32. What a deal $199
got one on sales, already own a XOOM, installed 2.0 played a bit with android app
The market has way too much section, and I find MOST paid app overpriced, there's not even a single chess game that is free, oops excuse me there's one that say it's free but it's a NAGWARE that ask you to purchases the full version every 3 move...
IMO a platform that expect people to pay high price for sometime average apps is bound to a disaster... remind me of nokia who where selling basic phone file browser for 14.99 back in 2000... if developer want to get the platform to catch and people to purchase their app they need to get real with the price they are asking, aren't we in the middle of an economic crisis or not ???
The actual unit is quite nice, very responsive and the actual OS is a good contender to android, maybe a little bit less customizable, I find the form factor very interesting but I have yet to find affordable apps I use everyday on my xoom like a good network scanner, a good wifi scanner and other network tools like a samba client and server...
So for the price I am happy to be able to play with a new toy but so far I lack a few thing like even a paid xvid player etc...
I got mine today on sale at OfficeDepot. I picked up a 16gb for $198 in store. Happy to have it. Can't wait for the update!
Traded a 3 month old 16gb Ipad2 for a new, sealed in box 32gb PB, with HDMI cord and leather BB convertible case yesterday. Haven't put it down since I got. Trader was happy with the trade, and I couldn't be more happy. Together with my 9900, it feels like they're a couple, and can't live without each other. The screen, the capability to download AVI movies, stream videos conected to my 42" LCD, just perfect... So much more uses already than I had with the Ipad2. Feels much more "grown-up" and professional than the CRAPple.
Went looking today for a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to no avail though. Went to Best Buy and Source by Circuit City. Any suggestions gang??
Again, couldn't be happier with the PB. Superb little device.

picked up a 32gb from the last fire sale in Canada.
Great price! Im a semi pro photog, so this will be handy when showing my pics to people :)
it's also a nice toy lol
Proud new owner of a Playbook 16G. $199 at Best Buy.:)
Picked up my 16 GB Playbook from Staples Friday morning ...it's an awesome device and i couldn't be happier with my decision to go with the Playbook.
My Fiance and I just ordered 32gb for $299 from Office Depot. They should deliver this week! :)
We (well she) was going to try to brave the Black Friday deals, but that would have been $249. The extra $50 each was worth not having to deal with all the crazy people, and waking up at 2am to wait in a cold cold line.
Now to read all about my Playbook so I know everything to do once I get it :D
Got my 64G Playbook at Best Buy on Friday and I totally LOVE this tablet. The bridge is simply wonderful. Within minutes I had it all set up and was chatting on FB, watching videos, updating my calendar and email. It is amazing... I can barely put it down.
Honestly, RIM needs to chuck it's marketing/PR department pronto and get a new agency... they have done the PB a disservice by failing to market it well, it's so much more than the media have said. I don't need native email or calendar, with BB Bridge everything is there and I can multitask away.
I am very glad they've had this sale, if only to allow more people to get one and find out for themselves what a great little machine this is.
.
Yay glad to be part of the club!
Me too.....:D
Having debated whether to get the pb or not I have been given a 32 gb and i am still learning but I am so impressed. I like the fact that teathering to my 9780 provides a really useable internet browser without the cost of a second data package. Looking forward to a continuation in my knowledge of this great device and os 2.0
Never thought I would become a tablet user and I'm still debating, but I received my brand new PlayBook today and am kind of anxious to play with it!
Got my 64gb Playbook a few days ago on sale at Staples. Love it so far, its the perfect size. Its unfortunate the app world payment system sucks so bad. I havent been able to buy any apps because of that stupid error id 10,000. I have tried all the tips and tricks and work arounds there is out there, but nothing works. And the address etc. is exactly the same as on my visa stmnt, so that cant be the problem. Neither is my visa card, I've called them too and it has been authorizing every try :(
I ordered 2 16 gig from Future Shop last Friday at 4:30 am. Was all happy until I got up and realize that I needed the thing for the weekend. So I ask a friend who worked close to a Future Shop in Winnipeg to go and get 2 for me. Luckily they were available at 10:00 am. He bought it for me. Then I thought I might need more storage space so I ordered and a 32 gig from FS.
Still wasn't enough. I went to Future Shop on Saturday to see if there were any available. Everything was gone except the 64 gig. So I got that.
In All I have 6 Playbooks lying around. Giving one to my brother as a gift and selling to friends at face value. I love this thing. Hey I could always return it.
just got mine today have to say i like it. but the issue is that it has a stuck pixel and that is irritating me. hopefully i can find another in stock
I received mine tuesday 22nd :D, 64GB playbook
at first, i wasn't too fond of it since i use my sisters ipad2 for a while and it felt very different reading pdf from ipad to playbook but with other features that ipad can never do or not willing to do lol, im actually enjoy the playbook after like a day ahah
playbook + clouds services = VERY CONVENIENT
edit: i wished i since this thread before i made a separate one ahah i guess i was too excited at the time
Agree completely!... Playbook is awesome ... 2.0 software upgrade will be too!!
