Got my one today... The PB is just available in Austria since a week, so I wasn't able to grap one faster ;) But I looooooooooove it so far... so I hope Crackberry will give me a lot of news and tests in the future ;)
I went into Best Buy on Saturday to get the 64gb Playbook. The salesman says there's an open boxed one available and that he'd sell it to me for $559CAD BUT I had to buy a 2yr extended service plan for it. It was still cheaper than buying a brand new one and I guess the 2yr extended plan is a nice thing to have so i said yes. I also picked up the Otterbox Defender for it as well as an HDMI cable. I haven't stopped playing with the Playbook since I got it charged up on that first day. I found out later from a friend that works at another Best Buy that I could have gotten the the discounted Playbook and declined the extended warranty :S . But, I'm finally able to take advantage of all the digital copies packaged with blu-ray movies I've picked up over the last 2 years and convert them into a format the Playbook can recognize. I've got at least 15 movies on the Playbook so far and the list is getting bigger. Oh and Sling Golf is a pretty awesome game.
Snapped up a 32 gig (unopened with gift receipt) from someone who won it at a conference. So far I really enjoy this device. Still a few things for RIM to add, but I personally enjoy growing with a device and the excitement when new features are added.
Two weeks in here and these are my favourite features and my wants:
Love: Bridge, tether, web browser, awesome speakers.
Want: Android app player - just like everybody else.
RIM gets way too much crap for their products. I for one very much enjoy the Playbook for what it does well, and am excited to see what gets added in the future.
ps. Very solid forums here at CrackBerry.
Got my 16Gb Playbook today, for my birthday if you're wondering, after a couple of issues with updating and setting it up with the desktop manager - all fully resolved by help of the forum! i'm really loving it, working like an absolute dream. have got loads of ideas of things to try thanks to crackberry. One happy Pb owner!!! ;)
i got mine 32 gigs for $400
new in the box on CL
Got my NIB 16GB for $385 from eBay!!:D
My gf just bought me a 32gb playbook for my birthday, I can't wait till she gets home.
She said the salesperson at Future Shop was trying to hard sell her the motorola tablet instead. He also said they stopped making playbooks and you have 14 days to bring it back cause he's going to hate it.
Happy Birthday. Congratulations on the present. You will most probably not hate it and hopefully its quirks are things you can live with.
Mine is finally here n its awesome! Getting used to the keyboard but i feel like its christmas day already!
Got my 64GB NIB for $400! :)
Exciting day. Just received my 64GB PB and it's already loading the new OS.
And my company finally added the 9930 to approved devices, so I'll have that in a few days.
My ideal combo will soon be a reality.
Just got mine yesterday, only $230 thanks to the two day sale from Staples, $250, then got a percentage off since it was considered a large order. Absolutely love it! Was a bit skeptical on 7" size, but after using it I love the size, much easier to hold and type. There are so many complaints about the apps, but after looking through app world, there are more than enough apps for me. How many different solitaire games does someone need? I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
My playbook 64gb just arrived about 15 minutes ago. Took a few minutes to get it connected to wifi and now its downloading the update. The first impression: neat, solidly built device with a very nice screen! more impressions after the update!

...to get my Blackberry Playbook...and I am definitely satisfied. The ONLY small glitch I have come across is NOT being able to gain access to the internet from anywhere via the tethering technique. Being the proud owner of both the "aging" Bold 9650 and the Blackberry Playbook...I thought that access through the Sprint network would be a breeze. I was mistaken. Apparently...the Playbook works best only through the assistance of a major modem from a hotspot. I am yet to see or get total access from anywhere on the Playbook as if I am home. Hoping that the next upgrade grants me the luxury of that access from anywhere. Thanks for leting me "vibe" on here.
Are you saying that Bridge does not work? I know AT&T has limited the Bridge function but I did not think Sprint limited it. You do have to install and then pair the devices. My 9650 bridges to my pb.
Is there a way to skip the initial software update process? I want to use the Android Player but the latest update disables it. Thanks for any advice. :)
Got mine yesterday, absolutely love it so far.
Watching Inter Milan vs Palermo live on it at the moment using the Bet365 website. Also got Dead Space just to try and I'm amazed at how good it looks on something like this.
I get train to work and back most days, ~45mins each way so tether is going to come in very useful I can see, looking forward to trying it out properly tomorrow.
All in all I'm very happy.
I have a BlackBerry PlayBook and still waiting for the next major update!
I will hopefully get mines in this morning! Ordered mine through the Telus $200 off deal!
Though technically premature, my 64GB Playbook is on truck for delivery. I don't know if I can wait until after work. May have to duck out early.
my 32gb PB was delivered yesterday, so far i love it! BUT, i am having trouble with bridge web browsing via ATT. Tether connection complete; when i try to use bridge browser i get a message telling me to add tethering service plan. There are several posts on cb about PB bridge and sharing 3G connection w/ PB. Am i missing something?
im onto my second playbook in less than a week, first one the touchscreen had some issues but the second one is working amazingly i love it!!! now it just needs skype and this thing will have everything i need
recently, got all amped up over the assortment of offers available: $370 for the 16gb at sears; $399 for the 16gb at staples; staples $100 rebate (ugh!); then the best buy $150 off the 32 and 64gb. got sucked up/into the last and ordered mine labor day weekend. after some minor order/delivery drama, have had my 64gb for 5 days now. am getting used to it and intrigued by the possibilities! much more fun at home than playing with it in the store!
