    BlackBerry Empire has a post stating "It has been a while since the BlackBerry PlayBook OS has gotten an official update, but rumors swirling around say that we should be expecting PlayBook OS v2.1 on September 20th."

    I don't give much credit to other sites, so has anybody around here heard such a thing?!?

    On a Thursday? Surely that's hopes and dreams smashed right there. Don't get me wrong, an official OS would be great, but unless we're all shocked tomorrow, (my later tonight by the way) I think this is just smoke and mirrors.

    If Rim is planning a feature-rich launch of 2.1 to help move phones and tablets as paired devices, the 20th would be an excellent day.

    Long enough after the iPhone launch, but just prior to the actual release date.

    New features that make iOS on the new iPhone look dated before its even been released would be clever.

    A rumor based on the Italian release of the 4G Playbook seems highly unlikely. I wish it were true, but I think we're more likely to see 2.1 drop in October - late October at that.

    That way you have an event to showacse the features instead of just releasing the update with nothing other than changelog.

    Heard so many it is comical ... Heard 25th of September... but also heard they did not actually land on the moon... so who knows...f

    or me it is funny because I do not actually care if and when it does.... Happy with my Playbook as is... If and when it shows just a bonus to me.....

    With all the added features I doubt it is coming out this week or even next week. There was plenty of signs that 2.0 was coming. Only rumor thus far for 2.1.

    Id say a 2.1 beta being available makes it a bit more real than just rumor...besides deep down we all know its coming..."SOON"

    Remember when Bla1ze said the build # was up to 2.1.0.970.. That was a while back and they can't go much higher without hitting 2.2, so I think a release is pending/SOON...

    You can go
    2.1.0.1899
    Then
    2.1.0.2364
    etc.
    Then of course you have
    2.1.1.364
