Picked up my 64gig PB wifi at Office Depot for $159.
Enjoy it - at that price, it would be hard not to!
Which city? Los Angeles area (and online) all Office Depot are out of stock. It's probably the best deal out there for the 64.
Office Depot has 16 GB for sale online in stock @ $129.92 :)
Sold out in less than an hour.
Not really.... they've been at these clearance prices for about two weeks now. I was able to get a 64GB for $149 last week at my local store.
Im glad you were able to get a deal on your PlayBook! I picked up the last 64 GB in all Office Depots in my city on Black Friday. 149 (with free two year warranty).
Good stuff!
Sent from my freaking awesome Bold 9900!
I just picked up the BB keyboard from The Source in Canada for $59.99. Can't wait I bought another keyboard and hated the build and quality! Sometime you just have to pay the price or wait for a sale.LOL
Picked up a 32 GB Playbook at walmart for $118. They had to price match staples. Great deal gave up the 16 GB.
Got my wife one for the same special. I see the prices for the ipad, & I just can't believe people are paying those prices just to use them to surf the net & watch movies.
You do remember that RIM wanted just as much for the PlayBook orginally?
But it didn't sell well so the marked it down. The current prices for the PlayBook would have to be considered "clearence" prices. In the coming months you proably will not be able to find a PlayBook anymore.... except maybe ebay.
As long as you know what you are getting these prices are great! But you are not getting anything close to an iPad and the ecosystem that supports it.
I hope all these stores with 64GB Playbooks go out of stock soon. Not great for people looking for someone to buy their Playbook. I just hope BB10 comes and the Playbook 2 comes out.
Not to hijack the thread of the OP, but I do hope there is a second generation tablet. In my opinion, it should not be called PlayBook 2 BECAUSE of all the negative publicity it received for the outrageous price points, lack of native apps in the beginning and the like.
63 days and counting.
Can you expand on who warranty is thru, how you got it, which warranty you are talking about?
Was that some kind of Black Friday deal?
EG: All computers /purchases over a certain account bought on Black Friday get a warranty, not product protection package upgrade.
(I'm assuming so as Office Depot during the check out tried the upsale me to a equipment protection plan of some type for $49.95 IIRC)
***********************************************
TIP for those "in the market" who who like to DOUBLE the manufacturers warranty for FREE.
Some credit card companies DOUBLE the warranty... Reason? Well I guess they found out people are more likey to pay the bill if the thing is still working. ;)
.
Weeeell then don't be shy, start your own thread ....... ehhhhhh!!!?
Anyone else ordered a 64gb PB online @ OD and still waiting on backorder? I live chatted with a OD rep last week and he told me that they would be re-stocked Monday but tracking stays the same = waiting backordered...am I the only one shafted by OD?
I think it is fair to say these are clearance prices and there will not be a playbook 2 until RIM figures out its future after the BB10 sales numbers come in. If BB10 sales numbers aren't great, I would have wonder about ongoing operations let alone a second gen playbook.
I seriously doubt they will fulfill the order, past few days the 64GB was showing SOLD-OUT, previously it was showing SOLD-OUT online about a week prior BUT was showing IN-STOCK at some stores.
(Pop up box would appear to search via zip code)
Past few days, search results gave a "SOLD-OUT" type message- referring you to other products you might "like" with a banner along the top that said item number 727467 PlayBook 64GB (RIM-PLAYBOOK64) was no longer available.
When checking the link to the page itself IIRC it said SOLD-OUT online, and the pop-up box /options to search any stores by entering zip code had disappeared totally.tem 727467, BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet 64GB Black, is not available for purchase at this time.
Shop below for similar products.
16GB IIRC (And I did not check the details) on the first page if you had typed in "PlayBook" was showing as available.
Past day or so and as of 2012-11-29= 64GB and the other one (Think it was the 16GB) had a greyed out pic with a red SOLD-OUT banner across it.
Now it and the other listing are TOTALLY GONE.
PlayBook - Search at Office Depot
Disclaimer: YMMV depending on zip code.
For details on how you "might" find one, and have it transferred to a local store check here.
(The below posts are not exactly spot on to your situation but I'm thinking "managers "may" have a "internal" way to check inventory not displayed on website)

Thx, I spoke to an OD rep and she assured me that my order will be fulfilled....*crossing my fingers*
Do they price-match online prices?
Well I had ordered one from Office Depot in mid November and just got the following email today. Apparently Office Depot doesn't think very highly of the Playbook????
Good afternoon.
We are writing today to inform you about the status of your recent back order for the Gigantic Overpriced Blue Paperweight.
Office Depot has learned that we will not be receiving additional shipments of this product and unfortunately this means that we will not be able to fill your pending back order. Your pending back order will be cancelled automatically and your credit card will not be charged. We are very sorry to have inconvenienced you.
I got the same email and was thinking "well for not having the Gigantic Overpriced Blue Paperweight Im still getting a 75 dollar Merchandise Card lol"
OD appears to be idiots. Mine was already shipped and still got the paper weight email...so, I am getting the 64Gb for $75....that is a real deal!
I'm still looking for somewhere to buy one.....at a reasonable price that is.
I got the same email but it went to my junk email. Did anyone else see that it was recalled right away and then the same email was sent but instead of the paper weight Comment it had the proper description and item number?
