    More than a dozen times on different network connections, through the BB Desktop and fromPlayBook update I have downloaded the 2.1 OS, but the actual installation fails.
    Any suggestions?

    Put your playbook next to an iPad3. It will install the update immediately.

    You can try again, now that there's a newer update. Or call rim

    The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"
