Wonder if we could have Ubuntu installed on it. from what I read, it won't be supported, but is it because the device is locked down to only run the BlackBerry os? Or would it be more a hardware issue?

I saw a demo of the Ubuntu os and it rocks. It would be a shame to let the playbook go to waste...I would love to have Ubuntu os on it...I'd be using it everyday!

No, Bootloader is locked. Hardware would work. No full size usb port though.
