......to put movies on my 32G PB?
Probably dragging and dropping to the videos folder when hooked up to your pc or mac via usb.
There are quite a number of threads on which software folks recommend for ripping their own dvd's. Lots of different opinions. Then there are the less legitimate methods called torrents - explore that on your own. Search for "dvd" or "handbrake"
can you give more specifics? are you using a PC or Mac? do you have a preferred movie format?
if you're on a mac like i am, you can use handbrake to convert videos into mp4 files and they will play beautifully on your playbook.
if your question is all about how to move files, then as the guy before me said, it's simple as plugging your playbook to your computer with the usb cable. your PB should mount on the desktop and it's just a matter of drag and drop from there!
hope this helps ;-)
I'm a PC user.
My question was not so much 'how', but 'where', I guess. so, 1) Can one purchase movies on the web somewhere and download them such as one does with music? Would this be incredibly slow?
and 2) Failing that, how would I get my favourite DVD movie onto my PB? I haven't actually tried it, but what happens if I throw my fave DVD into my PC laptop? Can I just drag it over?
TIA.
I use DVD Catalyst.
I convert them to mp4 format with the software, plug in my PB to the USB port, and point it to download to my PB/movies or videos folder. I have done the wifi method, but it takes so much longer.
Alternately, you can covert the movie/file and drag and drop to your PB folder, but then you're doing double duty (convert to PC, then move to PB). Unless you just want it burned to your PC hard drive for future reference or use. point it directly to PB.
Either way, I recommend using the cable connection as it's much more reliable and faster.
