I am pretty sure anyone who installed the beta on their Playbook already knows about this feature.

It's the reading mode that's been on the last couple versions of the beta. OP just discovered it.

what the OP is trying to say is that the browser has a reader mode, it strips out almost everything on the website to only show the article.

It's been available since the first OS 2 beta though

    That is *extremely* good news.

I use that feature often on my iOS and Mac OS devices. It is called "Reader" there and appears in the address bar when appropriate. Really great for clearing away ads etc and focusing on the page content.

Looks exactly like the reader mode feature found in the iOS5 browser. I smell an Apple law suit on the way!

You're right - it was there in previous versions. It's almost like OS2 is a developers' beta or something like that. Features are here today and gone tomorrow (and vice versa). It's so disorienting!!!

I'm not going to subject myself to a PlayBook beta, but has this feature been pulled from the latest beta? Boo.

Reader mode is in 2.0.0.6149, top left of browser title page. It has been in all OS2 betas though did move from the right to the left of the title at some point.

The reader/article mode only appears when there is certain webpage content. Try going to a news website.

Like it. will it do something similar to column view like on the phone browsers? that is format the text to the display (word wrap) so you don't have to scroll horizontally?
