I haven't used my Playbook in a while and I figured I'd find a new use for it at work for BBM'ing since more people seem to be using BBM; unfortunately after upgrading the version of BBM on my Blackberry Bold 9900 a few nights ago with the update in Blackberry World, I can now longer connect to BBM via Blackberry Bridge:

"Your version of Blackberry Messenger is not compatible with Blackberry Bridge. Download the latest version of BBM to use it on your Playbook"

I have PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1753 and there's no software updates in My World on the Playbook.

My Blackberry Bold 990 has software version 7.1.0 Bundle 2840 and there's no software updates in My World.

Did Blackberry provide a phone software update that renders the Playbook obsolete or is there a fix for this issue?

Hmm personally don't have a playbook but haven't heard of issues with bridge. Have you tried removing the pairing and re-pair?

Yea, that was one of the first things I tried and it didn't resolve the issue. I appreciate the suggestion though!

Don't have a 9900, just the Z10. I had removed sim card to update my BBM (on AT&T), and it works ok on the PlayBook... just no channels. Might want to try un-install/re-install without sim?

Thank you! This resolved my issue and since you can't delete or find varying versions of BBM through My World, I never would have found this without your help.

It seems to me that Blackberry has moved away from adequately testing their products as I was able to reproduce the problem by reinstalling BBM 8. Basically the BBM offered in my Blackberry Bold 9900's Blackberry World will break Playbook bridging capabilities.

BBM 8.0.0.94 does not work with Playbook Bridge

BBM 7.0.1.23 works with Playbook Bridge
