Now that Netflix has finally redesigned it's streaming website to run on html5 has anyone tried the website on their Playbook yet? I am in China right now so I can't connect.

Not sure about PlayBook but it sure as heck still doesn't work on BB 10 through the browser so likely the same for PB.

Does not help as the Playbook browser does not support the required DRM stuff afaik.

I know I did see a Netflix app running on a PlayBook once. I tried numerous versions and failed.. then I started to wonder if it was fake?

I can't get it to work in the browser. I also tried SimpleBrowser+ and all of the user agents it had with no luck.

Looks like PlayOn is still the only option for Netflix on a PlayBook.

    Thanks for trying.

Another option is Splashtop (paid remote desktop app in BB World).

Funny how it acts a little different with different browsers. But nothing plays on bb10 or the PB from the website. Still need Silverlight or PC/Mac/Chromebook.

Awhile back, I played with user agents in Origami. I think I used a certain version of Chrome as it is on ChromeBooks, and was able to get the "loading" screen to pop up in Netflix when I tried to play a video. Unfortunately, the screen stayed there and didn't move to the video.

Even if you can get past the desktop browser dependencies, looks like Netflix still requires the DRM stuff to work, which PB and BB10 devices don't have.

Splashtop is a must app for the PlayBook. Unfortunate that they pulled the BB10 app and stopped supporting it though.

I know on BB10 in the browser, I can bring up the Netflix site, browse videos but as soon as I try to watch one, it redirects to the "System requirements" page.
