    I subscribed to Purevpn for my Playbook because their website displayed a detailed setup instruction for PlayBook, so I guessed that Purevpn can work. But apparently not.

    I've been exchanging emails with their support for a few days but my PlayBook still can't connect to their servers. I already installed the certificate, and connecting to different IKEv2 servers, but each returned "Failed to establish VPN connection. (Authentication error)"

    Does anybody have had any success setting up Purevpn on a PlayBook? If you do, please help me.

    There are 9 points in the VPN settings

    1. Server Address*
    9. Gateway CA Certificate

    Point 9 may be set to "AddTrust External CA Root".

    If that doesn't help, you should communicate your settings for all nine points to their customer support.

    Changed #9 to "AddTrust External CA Root", and it works.

    If anyone interested, this is the setting for Purevpn on my PlayBook:

    Server Address: us1-ikev.pointtoserver.com
    Gateway Type: Microsoft IKEv2 VPN Server
    Authentication Type: EAP-MSCHAPv2
    Authentication ID Type: Email Address
    Authentication ID: "username"
    MSCHAPv2 Password: "password"
    Gateway Auth Type: PKI
    Gateway Auth ID Type: Identity Certificate Distinguished Name
    Gateway CA Certificate: AddTrust External CA Root

    Happy that the case is solved.

    In case of PureVPN there is one optional add-on, which I stronlgy recommend: NAT-Firewall

    If you still not have it, contact customer support to get it.

    After that you can do some simple fine-tuning of the firewall in the clients area (in your case you can probably just "block all ports").

    I followed all those settings and I still cannot connect to the VPN. Any other ideas?

    I'm still exchanging emails between support, so if I discover that any changes need to be made to the settings, then I will post it up on here.
