    I created an ad-hoc wifi network on win 7 laptop for use in hotel with only ethernet connection but can't connect playbook to ad-hoc network. My iPhone connects OK.

    Yeah, well this is disabled on the PB unfortunately, I still don't get it and don't start me about security, but it clearly lacks as we can't access anything on a LAN because of this, without installing some client/server app. PB network sharing is one way... from a LAN device to the PB, the opposite won't work.

    Download connectify and use that. Works like a charm

    Is your win 7 notebook not capable of creating a wifi hot spot with Connectify? Connectify lite is free pro was about $30.
