can I access my email through native email app on pb without wifi connection, I mean using only bridge connection?

Like Obama says "Yes We Can!!!"
I just tested it by turning off the wifi on both my PB & my Torch 9860. My PB is bridged to the 9860 over bluetooth, and the 9860 is connected to my mobile account over H+. I set up my gmail account on the PB using the native app then sent out a message to my other email address on hotmail. The message was received on my 9860 right away. Then I used the 9860 to reply, and voil, the reply message appeared on the PB.
Bridged without wifi is o.k but bridged with wifi makes my native email to open impossible.
Is that so? It works fine for almost everyone I see around for here. Reboot your device (hold volume up, power, volume down till the red light comes. If you hear a click, you did it wrong).
I try with my gmail. it works.
but when I try with my yahoo.com and my office email, can not.
please advise, what should I do.
thx
When you go to set up your yahoo mail using the native email app on the PB, when your on the "email, calendar, contacts" page, where it says "sign in to an existing account", don't enter your email address and password there; instead, tap on "Advanced" at the bottom left. Then tap on "IMAP" and it will take you to a page titled "Account Integration". Use the settings shown here to fill in the required fields:
What Are the Yahoo! Mail IMAP Settings? - About Email
A little further down the same page you have to enter the smtp settings:
What Are the Yahoo! Mail SMTP Settings? - About Email
It worked fine for me just now. It went off without a hitch!
hai Patrick, I try several times, but still not working.
the message always about wrong server name.
don't know what to do.
I did reboot and now i have native email with wifi and bt but can not open only with BT....very strange i think.
I use the native email using gmail and works in every combination bridged/unbridged/wifi on/wifi off. It took a couple of days repeated syncing before it settled down after the 2.1 upgrade.
gmail is ok, but when you come with yahoo, it only work with wifi.
Check your yahoo settings on the PB and make sure they match the ones shown here, a screenshot from my PB Yahoo account which is working fine:

Yahoo seems to be having issues. I and several others are having trouble with yahoo the last few days. I can set up email but no contacts. Your issue may have more to do with Yahoo than with your setup.
hi Patrick,
I tried with your direction, but still not working.
I just wonder, how do you get "yahoo" beside the back button.
mine is "account integration".
thx
