    I find as well when resetting up email accounts to add the one I sync my contacts and calendar with first.

    whenever there's an issue w/ email or network, whether it phone or playbook, delete & readd the network/email acct is the solution 9/10 times...

    I've seen this happening a few times on my PlayBook. Each time, a not so quick restart of the PlayBook will get the emails flowing again without doing anything else. I've also noticed from time to time Videos won't play... and it'll eventually give me an error message telling me to restart the PlayBook, which has always worked. I may have to not let the kids play on the PlayBook so much. Do the restart first, because if the email service is stalled I don't know that deleting and re-adding the account will work. Restarts will fix most easy issues.

    I think everyone here has experienced this issue previously, I would start with the easiest solution first:
    Reboot PlayBook
    If still having issues, delete your account off the PlayBook and add it back

    I have used my blackberry playbook 64Gb very successfully for three years on gmail.Suddenly it will not receive emails whilst still sending them. Have tried all the normal tricks and even sought professional IT help.All to no avail. Can anyone help please.Very frustrating!!

    If nothing else works, wipe and restore it. It has the added benefit of making it run a lot faster too. I do a fresh install every six months or so anyway. It's a mild pain to do, taking time to reinstall all the apps, but it's worth it.

    (1) Make sure your Gmail inbox is set to sync (others can tell you how to check this, since I'm not currently running Messages), or
    (2) short of wiping your device, try using android Email, which is already on your Playbook. To access it, install Quick App Manager from App World, then click on Email and then open- set up your Gmail account from here.
