What is the LED light doing? Any flashing when you try to turn it on?

Take it back to the store you bought it from and exchange it for a working one?

try press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds then turn it on again... this happens all the time on my playbook.

Leave it charging for 24 hours and see what happens. More than likely the battery is 100% dead and needs to be fully charged again. Has happened to 2 of mine and all is fine

Maybe the battery requires a recharge?

I would leave it plugged into your computer overnight and see what happens

If battery is completely dead, you need to stack charge it. When you plug it in, does the LED go red for approx. 10 seconds then nothing. If so, then its a completely dead battery. Plug it in until the LED turns off and then unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it in and repeat. You'll probably have to do this up to 10 times for it to have enough charge to remain on on its own.

FYI: leaving it plugged in if its completely dead will do absolutely nothing.

I would only add - UNplug at the wall so you don't accidentally damage the somewhat fragile usb port.

Try and stack charge it, search the forums on how to do this.
