I bought a couple of charging pods lately, and was considering taking one apart to modify it to include hdmi hookup.

Anyone try this yet, or have taken it apart?

    Thanks, all.

I still tend to think that the ports on the bottom of the pb are too fragile other than the magnetic charging port. So that unless the alignment is perfect, the hdmi port might be stressed trying to engage multiple ports on the one dock. Let us know how it goes. And Peter, Battery Guru, has operated on one and I thought someone else might have, too.

If I remember correctly, there is a small circuit board that holds the contacts for the charger where the HDMI plug would need to be. Even if you could make room for the HDMI plug it would have to be aligned perfectly and on some kind of rubber/spring mount. Too much work in my opinion. I just use the corded rapid charger and a generic tablet stand with PB upside down.
It's easy enough to open up. Take the pad off the bottom and I think a couple screws. Take a look a give us your thoughts if you come up with a solution.

Thanks for the suggestions...I will take it apart and have a look.

I have a couple of PB's, so I want one set up at the TV permanently, so the fragility of the connectors is not
a concern to me, as it won't be moved very often.

    I'll post what I find.

UPDATE: Ok, so I took it apart successfully, and found a section of the main pc board extending out in to an area that would inhibit
the plugging in of an hdmi cable. If that part of the pc board was shifted over by 2-3 mm, then all would have been well, and it could
be modified accordingly. Looks like I'm going to have to make something up from scratch.

    Thanks, all!

I think someone may have also fabricated their multi-connector but don't recall much (if I'm not imagining it entirely!)
