Interesting. I've copied over a couple movies in mkv format, but when I run them I get "File type not supported" message. Any idea what the problem might be? I thought mkv format was supported in OS 2.0

Well... d***. That is a shame if MKV is not supported. My biggest hope was that more video files would be supported since I generally have used my PB solely as a video player the last few weeks.

I have played a .mkv file on my Playbook w/OS 2.0 today. It works. The audio is AAC. I have not tried AC3 yet. See http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...hatter-700575/

MKV should be supported on OS2.0. It is mentioned in the updated documentation:

MKV isn't a file type, it's a file container. You can put any file type into an MKV, so the issue with decoding probably has nothing to do with the MKV itself, it probably has to do with whatever Video or Audio codec is unsupported by the PlayBook. For example, many MKV files are HD .MP4 video and AAC audio which is supported by the PlayBook

One of the first thing I tested was playing a MKV Video on OS2. Not sure what the audio is encoded with but mine played fine. I was not able to play the same video on the old OS.

I reported in another mkv thread - copied over two, one worked, one did not (with ac3 audio).
