If you type on it, do the letters get entered into Text boxes or documents you type? In other words, does it appear to be working at all?
UNpair the to and then re-pair them again?
You could also try restarting
To fix an issue, try these in order:
Restart using the Battery Icon and press Restart
Press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds. Then leave it for 20-30 seconds and see if it restarts.
To REBOOT:
Press and HOLD all three keys for about 10 - 20 seconds: PowerOn, VolUp and VolDown. Start with the PowerButton. Keep holding past the 3-choice options screen. If you hear a shutter type sound, you've taken a Screen Shot and probably missed the PowerButton.
The keyboard works fine.. I am able to type on it on every application I have..
I have already tried re-pairing and rebooting the playbook... still no luck.. I am thinking I may have a defective unit and will need to be replace.
The mouse cursor should appear in the web browser, for example, as well as in text entry applications. I have verified this before replying to ensure accurate information instead of my faulty memory. :) I doubt the BlackBerry Bluetooth Mini-Keyboard is defective; you need to reboot the tablet and/or reassociate the keyboard and tablet.
The Mouse Cursor is relatively small and WHITE.
Interesting, I have tried taking a screen shot showing the cursor but the pictures do NOT show it. I've tried 3 times in the Browser. Yup, just tried in Battery Guru - the cursor does not show in Screenshots. Somebody else want to verify that???
I just finish re-installing the software on my playbook by doing the desktop manager method. I am still not seeing the cursos on either browser or docs to go..
Unfortunately, I had that same problem when the trackpad on my mini keyboard died after 2 weeks. I tried all the steps above including talking with BB support who quoted from the User Manual - make sure the power switch on the keyboard is "on". Really? There was no way to reset the keyboard itself and I ended up returning it. That must have been the last unit that Amazon's reseller had as they are no longer carrying it. It's a shame, as I got a good deal on it using a gift card credit I had outstanding. I can still get the keyboard from other sources, but at a much higher price. I'll wait for another special.
try a hard reboot as F2 said.
Finally got the replacement mini keyboard and it works perfectly.
It appear the first one I got was a returned unit because it was missing the plastic cover over the keyboard.
Thank you for everyone who provided suggestion and help.
