I am based in London UK.
I have read comments on this topic but these stores not available to me .The micro male usb is squatter than the thin one I mistakenly bought like the charger usb.

Anyone know what they are called please as I wish to add a card reader writer to my playbook?

No use, there is no USB OTG (on the go) support right now so this won't work. Currently the PlayBook cannot act as any sort of host device, only a slave device.
