"Apple's push into boardrooms and sales offices also reflects the headstart it has with its iPad tablet, introduced almost a year ahead of RIM's PlayBook. Companies should be able to begin PlayBook trials within weeks for a March launch."

March has been the projected date all along. At least, that's how most people have taken the "Q1 2011" comment in all of RIM's announcements. I'd love if it's early March, but it could be released at the end of March and still be "Q1 2011".

Yeah. March has been generally accepted as the round'a'bout release time but at least this nails that down. What I found rather exciting is the part where they talk about begining testing in the next few weeks. Which means a polished product is very close.

lol, we all would love a February release but I don't see a lot of Apps being announced by developers. I'm assuming most of them are keeping hush hush about it, but the least they can do is let us in on the good stuff they are working on to build some anticipation. But March is not very far from the horizon.

Oh that is exactly what I figured anyway... when I heard q1 and filtered it through the usual "rim is slow as molasses" paradigm, i conclude they mean the very END of q1; that is, march 31 is the release date.

a month and a half later than xoom's. Even though Balsillie described the playbook MONTHS ago as the "the world's first dual core processor tablet."

$600 hahaha, i am budgeting $450 for the PB, then $150 for all the cases because i just cant decide between soft shell, leather sleeve, and flip up stand. of course that could all be for the PB if its $499-549. and then later on the charging dock. i actually just bought those premium blackberry headphones and a touch stylus for it out of my other savings hahaha

You do realize that the Playbook is probably $500 for the base model? I don't think your $450 budgeted for the actual device will be sufficient, especially if you think you'll be using a lot of memory...

Actually, when RIM announced that PB OS 2.0 would be delayed, they specifically said it was being held off until February. Not Q1, February.

I tried to read the quoted article, but it's now a dead link on Yahoo.

Ironic we look back at that, and all the people saying "rim said q1 and meant it!" and it turns out they missed q1.

Lessons learned, word to the wise.

Said it before, will say it again...

April 1st seems to be the natural choice.

    It makes so much sense.

Your prediction is meaningless without giving a year. If you mean 2012, then I agree - OS2 will be dropped sometime before April 1. My finely tuned developer-senses are tingling so I will bet on mid-to-late February. ...probably the 18th, 19th or 20th.
