Do you have the official OS for that model? Some folks tried installing newer OS's but that did cause issues with the lte version.

I haven't been using the PB a lot, as I now have Z30 and frankly I mostly use the PB for movies on planes. Still, I had a small tablet account for those rare occasions. I've done hard reboots and replaced the card and still my PB doesn't recognize the card. I get a sim card picture with a red exclamation mark.

Did you ever use a SIM card adapter and possibly break some pins on the reader?

I have seen the SIM error when I first put a SIM in and noticed if you run the show me how to insert a SIM demo, as suggested when the error comes up, it then finds the SIM. This makes me think the error may sometimes be software related and the insert a SIM demo file forces a reset of the SIM reader.

No never used an adapter. Never took it out before this happened.
