Bad news! I hope you get it back. I may hold off on updating my z10.
Thanks for the heads up
Black is best Z10!
Which latest OS? Official? Leak?

Doesn't matter what os you load on your Z10. The Z10 has never bridged correctly with the pb. There are lots of posts, threads on this fact. Sorry.
Leaked and sad because I walked by an old 9300 and it hooked up immediately

It's only bb10 that won't work? Some upgrade eh?
You still have the Internet share and open on correct? Most of the bridge is gone but you should still have some functions.
True, but hardly the same though is it?
bridge v3 allows sharing connection (limited when compared to wifi hotspot though as it is not true tcp - just try and access blackberry world on the playbook for example), remote control of playbook, open on playbook for a limited amount of media types via the share menu and.... Oh wait that's it.
The casualty list - bbm, texting, access to phones PIM features (calendar, mail, notes, tasks,) notification of incoming phone calls.
Fortunately I have upgraded back to my Bold 9900 and version 2 bridge, and have all these features reinstated....
Not even close and one of the reasons I'm still using my 9900.
Thank you for taking the time to post a complete explanation. It sounds to me like the OP has NO bridge functions at all.
With the Bridge on the Z10 you get the remote screen control, using the phones Internet, and file access. You don't get access to the phones email, BBM, text messages. So yes the Bridge functionality with the BB10 phones is not good compared to the BBOS phones. The sad part is the fix would be done on the phones, not the PlayBook and BlackBerry appears to not be interested in that.

No bridge at all on either two playbooks with the z10 now some update

Don't forget though you have upgraded your phone to a superior os bb10. Ok you may have lost BIS, but look on the bright side? You have gained THE HUB. Now this is only my opinion but the HUB is the most unproductive, over rated, over hyped piece of crap software I have ever seen! It has no use, function or actually any reason to exsist. It just reproduces what the BB handset already did simply but in a more awkward complicated way!
My advice, if your still within your return date! Return it! If not then "just smile and wave boys, just smile and wave" like the other thousands of end users that were duped and stitched up by Thor!
Mobile Computing
I have had that happen twice with my BBOS phones.
Delete the pairing on the PB then delete the app and any bluetooth pairing to the PB on the phone. For good measure restart the phone and download the bridge app and try re-pairing.
I don't have a Z10 but have seen it suggested that you remove the sim and download the app over wifi to remove any carrier restrictions.
As limited as the bridge to BB10 devices is you should still have some functions.
Maybe your leaked OS on the Z10 is causing the trouble?
Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel! :D
It's always the same. It's become a sad old act....
Congrats on 8000 posts by the way
Perhaps the z10 isn't an upgrade after all?
I would already have one if they had kept the bridge. Not much chance I will let my torch go anytime soon. Just ordered another playbook from Amazon. Can't beat the price on them now.
Yet, none of it is a lie is it?
Well if you can explain any one of these three questions I have about my two Z10s I'll post one of them to you free.
1. What does the hub do on my Z10 that my old bb handset couldn't do already apart from complicate the issue of finding my emails?
2. Why have they programmed the Z10 to fool you after it turns on? After waiting for exactly 1min 17secs for it to turn on (yes I have timed it with a stopwatch) I get the little screen with all my nice icons on and you may think my phone is ready to use? Wrong! If you slide the main screen across you find a little message that says "preparing hub". I cannot access anything on my phone for a further 1min (yes I have timed it with a stopwatch). This takes the total turn on time for the Z10 to 2mins 17.4secs to be exact which is not good but why turn it on in the first place while the "HUB" is still loading?
3. People usually interpret upgrade to mean "enhance". You upgrade something to improve on existing features that you already have and hope have been improved on the upgraded version. Why then is my Z10 missing so many features that my old bb handset already had?
All I seem to have done by "upgrading" to the Z10 is take several steps backwards and I haven't found anything yet that the Z10 will do that any of my other bb handsets wouldn't do.
If I am missing something (which I always do) please feel free to enlighten me as I'm always willing to learn!
While the other parts of bridge were good the main thing I ever use it for was surfing while no wifi is around. The rest was just icing on the cake.
Now I do respect your opinion so could you explain to me what the hub is all about?
The one thing you forgot is as follows:
You gave them "mo' money"..... That's about it.
c
It is the root source of hubba hubba.
Hope that helps.
