Should the LED be working with bridged notifications or is it only functional with native messaging?

works on the native apps from my experience.

If you get notifications from bridge its the same red glow on the top left.

If you want to clear top left red corner after reading mail drop menu with "gear" at top right, then close main menu with up arrow. That clears it. Irritating that it does not go away.
