I upgraded to the latest Playbook OS version this week. Today was the first day I was able to work with the unit and came across something I was not expecting. I opened the browser and was asked to login with my Blackberry ID. I did not have anything like Blackberry App World, BBM, etc. running that needs the ID login, and was surprised at this. One of the nice things about Blackberry vs. Android is that you did not have to always be logged into and allowing the vendor (Google) to be tracking and collecting data on your every move.

Has anyone else seen this? I tried to find a setting to turn this "feature" off but couldn't find anything. I am not seeing any major changes yet on performance but am a firm believer in staying up to date on things like Flash security updates.

The only I get asked for that is when I wipe and open bbryworld for the first time.

I only see this when I'm not signed in and try to download an app from bbw.

Unlikely to cure itself. Sometimes happens if you have tried to edit the BBID.

I would Backup and Security Wipe.
