    Hi,

I recently got a 32GB PlayBook and I'm trying to get the Internet Tethering option to work on my Torch (w/ Rogers).

I select Rogers as the carrier, click next, it does "Authenticating" then "aquiring IP address" then fails. I had rebooted both the PB and the BB several times.

    For the record:

    1. WIFI is connected.
    2. PB is updated to the latest software.
    3. Torch is running the latest carrier OS and I've also updated to the latest Bridge
    software as of this morning.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Do you have a data plan that is larger than 1GB. If not tethering isn't included. You don't need to tether anyways. You can access just about everything through the Bridge.

Is there a reason you want to tether rather than use bridge? Is tethering included with your plan?

I have a 1gb plan. I would rather use Tethering as by using the bridge:

    1. Browsing via bridge seems much slower.

    2. Browsing via bridge I am going through my corporate network and am
also governed by the sites my company will allow access too.

Try turning off your WiFi. It may be default connecting to the higher speeds.

Delete the profile and try it again.

You might want to delete the bluetooth profile as well.

I have tethered on mine. Like you I choose my carrier and it worked. I wonder if you call Rogers and manually put the settings in. I don't know if being on BES is stumbling block also if you are.

You can check these settings as well.

Step 4. When asked for credentials, again do not use Rogers defaults. Use the following.
    username: wapuser1
    password: wap
    access point: internet.com
