Is it possible to use the internet tethering function between the PlayBook and the Z10 / Q10?

    Cheers

Yes. Both Bridge and Tethering work.

    And welcome to the forums!

    I'm on PB 2.1.01526 and Z10 10.1.0.4780
PB is tethering to Z10 though it doesn't show or acknowledge that (says "can't connect")
If you run your browser you'll surf. Mails are coming through too.
And of course there is hotspot..

Bridge still works for internet, remote control and the "Open on PlayBook" functions. It no longer has Bridge email or bridge Browser or BBM functions.

Bridge is limited for Z10. The internet works with it and the remote but that is all you will have. Also, if you have TMOBILE USA, they are now blocking internet connection via the bridge after some time and want you to have tethering / hot spot service as you will get the landing page that says so but only after some time

    Puma,
Can I work around this carrier caused problem by removing the T-Mobile Blackberry Bridge app, taking out my sim card, connecting via Wi-Fi, and then downloading the generic (non-carrier specific) Bridge app, and then putting my sim card back in after I installed the new Bridge app?

You can certainly try. Reboot after removing t-mobile bridge, download and then reboot again. BUT if you have a z10, I don't know if rroyy.com has a version for bb10 devices.

rroyy.com does not have the bridge for Z10 and simple uninstalling bridge and reinstalling without the SIM did not work for me. So it is still being blocked by Tmobile

Sorry about that. I am surprised that t-mobile would have closed down the route. (fingers crossed and eyes crossed, that the notorious Big V which charges for everything has let this alone, so far!!!)

Verizons new phone plans include phone hotspot options,
That's why I didn't have to get a BlackBerry phone. Verizon doesn't charge extra anymore for phone hotspots.

I THINK with a solo plan and UNlimited data and my very old grandfathered calling plan, Verizon charges me for everything. I think I just got an inquiry about my employee discount - (since I'm retired I prefer smaller bills but now I may be unaffiliated - unless AARP has something!)

Verizon will no longer upgrade your phone and continue grandfathering. I learned this the hard way after my wife put my 9850 through a wash, rinse, dry cycle. If you're a high data user at the time of upgrading, they will offer you 4Gig of data for the same price as 2Gig. If you've not pressed the limits on unlimited then they will only offer 2Gig. Of course it is costing us more.
After swearing that I would not upgrade to another BB, I bit on a Z10. The Playbook tethers as well as it did with the 9850.
