Thinking back to all the advances in computing over the last 30 years, I fondly (not so, really) remember my first mobile/traveling computer. The PB (and other tablets for other people) is a God send!

I remember those computers. Little bitty screen and not much computing power. Weighed a ton to carry, but we thought we were at the epitomy of computing. But then, I come from the days of the punch cards.

AT&T 6300 was my first, in 1985. A "whopping" 640K of memory, 20MB HDD, 12" monochrome (green) screen. DOS 2.11 "all" that for $2,500. The printer? an Okidata tractor feed/sheet feed 9-pin. I used it so much I wore out the print head. I've spent over $36K on computer hardware from 85 to date (and another $9,500 on related expenses, such as software, books, etc)

As a kid, all we needed for playing games was a sidewalk and some chalk.
