So, back to the point ..... did the OP buy?

As an Australian I find this style of bargaining chatter an interesting cultural observation, lol .. some very interesting clarifyers and anecdotes coming from the OP and some of the other posters.

(No, I'm not selling, I use my pb heaps - it suits my needs)
Money has not exchanged hands but Id like to think its awfully close!

I really appreciate the consideration. Id sure hate for your books to tip over. Then of course, couldnt you just put the books in the Playbook and not worry about it? You know what, my fault. I know the Playbook can accomplish a lot, but I doubt it will ever replace your books. Being able to open your book and have a magical castle pop up from within the fold of the two pages is tough to compete with.

    I don't get offended, I get annoyed.

Since your name is donnation and you apparently don't like yours, I think you should be the donor.
Lol, point taken, and I respect the fact that you love your playbook. I really don't hate mine I just have some annoyances with it. But cheers to you for defending it and I'm glad you really like yours. I say to people all the time in my job when if I'm met with a complaint on something (I deal with nurses daily who are sometimes resistant to change) "Our country is great because we are allowed differences in opinion, and I wouldn't want to live somewhere where everyone was not allowed to express their opinion on things."

That make way more sense. Since I can only think of one thing that would pop up out of such a book. Might I warn you to be careful, I got a paper cut licking an envelope once, just be safe!

Hear me out.. Why come to Crackberry.com and constantly rant about all the things you cant stand or how disappointed you are? Why spend valuable time away from work and home pounding your keyboards about the delay of 2.0? In all the threads I have read, its clear that you find the Playbook inferior to other tablets. Dont you think you would be so much happier with The Kindle Fire? Maybe you have a deep pocket and the unfed desire to fit in with the iphone crowd. Hey, Android makes a ton of tablets..lets not forget those!
As consumers we have every right to expect a product to deliver on the features and capabilities that are advertised. The BlackBerry PlayBook is a product. While I get much use from this tablet already there is still much work to be completed particularly in the area of integrating the BlackBerry smartphones such as allowing the smartphone keyboard as an input device to the tablet as well as allowing all tablet applications to save directly to the microSD card of the smartphone via bridge-mode. These seemingly small features would better position the BlackBerry PlayBook as a must-have adjunct to the BlackBerry smartphones. As for a tablet other than the BlackBerry PlayBook I have no interest in Apple iPad nor Google Android except from a forensic perspective.

I understand that! With all new technology, there are ways to improve. I cant speak to how the product was advertised, though I do know the "promises" RIM made were not kept. You have great suggestions and hopefully RIM is listening to BETA testers and playbook owners on how to improve the device!

Nice idea - loading the books but you cannot sideload books into the kobo app. They must be downloaded. But folks have found a 3rd party reader and its active developer really good.

I think OS2 will include the 3D version of the pb. Well, adding that feature is as sure as anything else that OS2 might include. 3D in Feb - you read it here.

yeah, I was surprised when I read the blog post earlier. Finally RIM is acknowledging Indonesia. Iphones and ipads are priced at a premium here, if RIM could capitalize on that fact, I think blackberry could increase its dominance here.

Maybe they should do more than open a store and create a representative office focusing on creating local content, I would love to see more apps like Love Indonesia perhaps with augmented reality.
rim got 46% of the smartphone market in indonesia. and bb is selling like hotcakes. playbook will sell like hotcakes if it got simcard on it. rim's market share is like 56% in emerging markets like indonesia and african countries. we buy cash, not 2-years indentured contract with 15 days return sort of deals in america.

Actually I have a sideloaded angry birds running on my playbook. Had to know what all the fuss was about.
I was amazed to find what I was NOT missing lol.

A sim card? Not sure I want to be holding the playbook to my ear to make phone calls - and if I'm going to use a headset, why not just use a phone? I don't see why that would have much value. I think the same can/will be achieved through bridge. Who wants to replace their phone with a tablet?

Not small at all - that would be huge!
It was the first thing I expected when I heard about a RIM tablet that bridges to your phone.
the idea spared the touch envy I have had by requiring a real keyboard and saved me from going to iphone..

Is the OP willing to pay full price for the devices?
Or does he expect people to just loose out on their hard earned cash?

How about this for alleviating the "frustration" of many pb users (should I say buyers) - RIM actually make good on their word and provide what's necessary to make this a tablet which can compete in the market.

I can very well understand people who are upset although I personally don't have a problem with not having native apps for email, calendar etc. but that doesn't mean it's a "invalid" argument.
Or the the standard reply in alot of these threads "You failed to do your research" is quite ridicules! I highly doubt this tablet was marketed as a device half finished or is it normal prcedure from RIM to charge premium prices for unfinished products?

I for example gave it a "bad" so far because for me wifi on this device is shocking and guess what no where in my research I found anything about this and when people bring it up they get answers like it probably just a bad playbook or even better reconfigure or buy a new router!
    I mean really?
For one there must be quite a few lemons out there and second to suggest that it's the router and it's configuration, given that this is a mobile device is a bit rich isn't it?!

It's like telling the next gut who complains about his cell reception to climb up the next phone tower and change the settings there!

I found a pretty nice set of antique bookends on ebay for under $100 bucks. Not only will that replace your current use for your Playbook, but youll have a matching pair!

    Sounds pretty fair!

To make the deal even better (hard to believe right) Ill pay shipping...AND...throw in a brass polishing cloth.

If you say no, then the terrorists win!

Let me assure you, I do NOT want you to "loose out" on any of your hard earned cash. Now, perhaps I want you to lose out on some of your spent cash. I cant deny that..

I could walk into a retailer and pay full price right now. I still dont understand why the concept of paying less than full price is so hard to grasp.
