    Hi all,

I bought a new playbook last Saturday but I found that the date of manufacture is June 9 2011, almost one year ago... Not sure if any change exists between the batch of last year and this year.. any idea?

    Thanks.

Yes they were all made in 2011 but I'm sure the current ones in store have the new qnx 2.0 updates.

I'm purchasing a playbook this friday for my business needs very good tablet..I did a decent amount of research from several sources on it.

No problem at all . I will do some tests and see what features could be updated or implemented as well.

No changes to the hardware, yet. There has been other changes since its release though. IMO its still a good device spec wise.

Might I ask WHY? My power button is flush. Working like a charm with NO problems since May 2011. I'm confused about that statement

The original power buttons were flush mounted and many found it awkward to press, especially to do things like a forced shut-down where you need to press and hold for a few seconds.

My original device had a flush power button and I didn't like it, however I had a hardware problem and had to RMA it. The replacement unit's power button stuck out a bit, making it more convenient.

Having said that, the power button is so rarely used that it's really no big deal. I've pressed it probably 5 times in the last 3 or 4 months.
