I ordered my 16g PB two days ago online from Best Buy. There is the 1-2 wk back order. How long should I expect to wait for it?

I would hazard a guess - one to two weeks!

But I know what it's like - I track some ground ups shipments and wonder why anything sits in Kansas (and I mean anything) for more than an hour!!!

Um, theres a lil button on the website (bestbuy) that gives you the info. you missed it?

I just called and the lady said 3 to 30 days. That doesn't help. Might look around to see if I can get one sooner.

No, I did that and checked orderd status but it didn't note anything as to shipping so I called.

Some people were told that their Playbook would arrive in almost 4 weeks.
I've read people saying that they got an email saying that it'd come on December 17, so even though it says 1-2 weeks even with backorder, it'll more than likely take longer, because it's first come first serve, and it depends on when they update your order with the Delivery company's systems, which is what it all comes down on.

If I saw that wait of "1-2wk back order", I sure as heck would not go through with the purchase.

There are alot of other sites that have them in stock. Shop around and you can always cancel your Best Buy order before it ships.

Have you checked RIM direct. I saw something about them offering the playbook direct from them. Is that not in effect yet?

I cancelled my order at Best Buy and ordered it off the RIM website. Their times seem to be shorter and I'm saving almost $30 so I think its a win-win either way. I guess I was lucky it hadn't shipped from best buy with how it worked out.

Ya. Thanks for that. I saw it on the front page new article then I saw you post it in a thread. Saved that $10 plus money on the taxes and shipping that RIM didn't charge.

Definitely. I got $200 cash back on my credit card so it felt like a sign to get the PB. Looking forward to using it to kill time at work and seeing what else I can use it for.
