I'm using OS2 (.4869), but have never had problems with internet access in Android apps. I use the Android Email app to check my email and even browse the web via Android sometimes.
Is your WiFi on and connected? You shouldn't have to tether your internet connection. If you're tethering to a BlackBerry phone via Bridge, it may not work, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Wifi should be enough. Apparently, those apps just don't work with OS2. I run beta OS2 on my Playbook with Wifi only (no bridge or tether), and have gotten a bunch of Android apps that use Internet to work. Android Kindle works quite well. Android Gmail works, but seems a bit slow. The fully-baked OS2/Android Player, assuming we get it, will probably provide more compatibility with Android; but, apparently, many Android programs will never run on the Playbook, and all Android programs will run more slowly on the Playbook than they would if written for QNX.

Yes, my Wifi is connected, I have the wifi only version and have no Blackberry, so I can't even use the Blackberry Bridge...unfortunately
Still no clue, I actually managed to get Android Market installed today as well, but could not do anything because the Android Market app refused to see I have a wifi connection. Right now under settings in Android Player, my Wifi says Error and I can not add network or do anything. However, apps like Bloomberg is still updating and I am able to connect to the Internet using Browser in Android.
Once again, I am not using Bridge and my Playbook is connected to my home wireless router directly, there is no problem with that connection as I am able to run all native Playbook apps that require Internet.
I'm having the same issue. I've recently upgraded to OS 2.0 (official release, not beta). I've installed an Android CNN app which will tell me that there is no internet connection available. I also get the same problem when using the Ultimate Guitar app. When I search for tabs, it gives me the same error.
Anyone else have the same problem? Any thoughts on how to work around it?

Reason: Grammar correction.
