i just downloaded a pdf onto my playbook using blue box the only way i can find this file is to go to bridge files. this is great when connected to my bb. how do i find the file when i am not connected to my bb? Also i tried to search my playbook" file:///accounts/1000/shared "through the browser and it said that i can not navigate to local files

use Air Browser from App World, its a free file browser

there is also a paid app called File Browser, and it is the best one, im not sure on the price though

I get that error all the time. Try just typing file: without the slashes or anything, then navigate to the directory from there.

Look in the folder Documents\BlueBox on the PB using File Browser or Air Browser.

If I recall, the instructions say (from the browser) swipe down then select downloads. You can also access your files over a USB connection on a PC.
