    Greetings,

My first PlayBook didn't recognize a SIM card, so I sent it back. BlackBerry has sent me a new PlayBook, but the box is generic, and doesn't list the IMEI number on the outside, like my original black box did. How do I find the IMEI number on my 4G LTE PlayBook?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

I found the the IMEI number under the SIM card tray. The number is so small I've never noticed it before. I was able to read it with a magnifying glass.

The IMEI number is not in Settings > About > Hardware. In fact, it doesn't appear to be listed anywhere in the software.

    Thanks,
    Shane.

On my Playbook, the IMEI is shown on the second line of about and hardware.

When I tap Settings > About > Hardware, it shows me seven lines:

    PIN 2A...
    ICC ID 8912230000...
    Total Storage 29.6 GB
    Free Storage 26.4 GB
    Total Memory 1 GB
    Free Memory 577.2 MB
    Boot Time Dec 07 15:59:12 MST 2013

The IMEI isn't one of the seven lines shown, and I can't find it anywhere else.

I'm using OS version 2.1.0.1753. What is your version?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

Mine is the same OS, 2.1.0.1753. In the about OS section, I also show radio version 2.1.0.1283.

Does your PlayBook work on the cellular network? If it doesn't, it may have the wifi version of the software on it.

Yes. The radio version is 2.1.0.1283 (4). I don't know what the "(4)" means, but my radio software was recently updated.

SIM-INFO says that it supports the PlayBook, but when I go to its page in BlackBerry World it says "This item is not supported by your current device profile". I'm not sure what that means.

Any way, I was able to find the IMEI number under the SIM card tray. It doesn't look like its available anywhere in Settings.

    Thanks,
    Shane.

If you go to SIM-INFO in BlackBerry World and point to "Supported Devices", you will see that the PlayBook is listed. However, I get the error message above.

I've never heard of this before. Where can I find it?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

On a regular phone you type(in the phone app) *#06# and it will display the IMEI.
