I did something stupid to my wife's playbook... I performed a security wipe but failed to do a backup. Is there any way to recover data that created (docs) on the Playbook? Any program/app? I've done something similar with a digital camera once, but found a recovery program. Please help... I sincerely need help!

Haha you could have a chance of recovering them had it been a normal deletion, but nay nay for a security wipe.

So, no documents on the cloud?

Nope, I had no idea that my wife was using the Playbook to type out a journal/index; I'm the ***** for not asking.

Well, for the record, I downloaded and tried to 'Data Recovery" programs (EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard 6.1 & BYclouder Tablet Data Recovery)... neither could locate the Playbook. It was worth a try... looks like I am on the sofa for the next month if that is all I get.

That BYclouder sure looked interesting. It said it could recover even after formatting.

BYclouder Tablet Computer Data Recovery - Recover lost data and files from any Tablet Computer.

I'd email them to see if it was possible just to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. They also had a lot versions, free, pro, utimate. Couch is not good. You will need a chiropractor.

You mean her PlayBook has NEVER seen Desktop Manager? And therefore she would have been presented the opportunity to do a backup?

By the same token, her failure to backup her work really isn't your problem, regardless of what you did to instigate the issue. Rule of thumb is back up early, and often. Especially for anything one can't afford to lose.

The BlackBerry PlayBook security wipe is not recoverable due to its military grade secure deletion algorithm.

    download blackberry dektop manager
    and update it
it will be come back every thing
    turn off playbook
open desktop manager in your pc/mac [make sure you have internet access in your pc/mac
connect playbook to pc/mac using via usb cable
in desktop you'll sell window pop up with option [retry, update, cancel]; please choose update
the desktop manager will update your playbook, wait because updating OS via DM takes time.

    Update OS via OTA

    Turn On playbook
    complete setup
playbook will then look for wifi connection
if already connected to wifi, playbook will automatically update your OS.
take note: need for speed, default wall papers, tetris and demo video is not included in OTA OS update
