No luck yet. I've tried it again and my playbook won't start. All I see is 1 red LED light then pauses a second and then flashes 4 LED lights of the same color. WHAT SHOULD I DO??? I'm stuck here for 4 hours now trying to figure out how to fix this thing, I mean all I did was update the PlayBook with my Desktop Software. This problem is more worse than anyone's.... HELP

Is this a bad day for me? Or am I the one
who killed my PlayBook?
Have your pressed and HELD the power button for 30-40 seconds? Then there's the press it for about 20 seconds and plug in the charger while still holding (that might require dexterity!).
Is the pb actually OFF - go into dark closet.
New or newish pb? Call support
The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

Just got this problem last night, it won't turn on, it won't charge, BBDM thinks it's disconnected, etc. I get 4 yellow blinking lights when attempting to turn it on while plugged into the PC.

I had the same problem approximately two weeks ago. I sent it back for repair and received a replacement unit. According to the BB engineer, this issue was resolved in a recent firmware update.
I left my PB plugged in for a day and it actually came on, but now the battery stays at 0% and won't go up, the unit and wall plug both gets warm indicating that it IS doing some charging.

This problem with the battery draining down too much is really a horrible design flaw. Every other tablet I can think of has hardware that protects the battery from this happening. It will automatically shut the device off before any damage is done. Another example of the genius of RIM...
I've only had my Playbook for a year and 3 months (just out of warranty) and now it's stopped working for me. I bought it online through RIM in November 2011, so my details should be online.
Anyway, I HAVE tried everything I've read so far on community forums. Have charged and reset numerous times. I just get a blank screen when I turn it on and even after I charge and reset it. Some have worked temporarily (best solution I found was to go through Blackberry Desktop Software which worked a few times, but it just goes back to the same problem). I'm pretty frustrated. Last thing I tried was to choose to go back to factory settings/look for upgrade through Blackberry Desktop Software. Now it won't let me connect because I have do setup on the Playbook before connecting again. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO SETUP ON MY BBPB IF IT DOESN'T TURN ON!
I could hear my playbook take pictures, but the screen NEVER comes on. Is this fixable without sending to RIM, Playbook is 1.5 years old. I already opened it and everything looks pluged/correct.
Do you know for sure the power cord is working? I had that problem recently, turns out something happened to the power cord and when I used another one it worked fine.
