    Hi guys and gals:

    Appreciate any help you can offer.

    My PB won't finish the 2.1 bundle...it gets stuck on the "downloading android.sys".

    After about 6 hours yesterday, I shut it down and restarted at midnight last night. 9 1/2 hours later...I get up and find it stuck again at about 40%...on "downloading android.sys"

    any suggestions?

    Give us some more info... How are you updating? wifi? BBDeskTop Software?

    Also have you backed up? What state is your pb in now? Working, not working?

    sorry if a bit vague. I'm a PB newb.

    Updating through desktop software, yes.

    for the second time I went to task manager in windows and closed the process.

    I restarted the PB and it is working fine...showing 2.01.168 as OS version.

    You should be on version 2.1.0.1032. That is the newest Official Version.

    Tap the cog wheel on the top right side, and go to Software Updates .. then tap the Check for Updates.

    I think some people have been having trouble updating thru DM. Do you have wifi you can update it over? If not a public place with free wifi? Either way please make a backup first if there is anything you don't want to lose.

    As you are having difficulty, make sure to do full backup using desktop manager, and also copy any media off playbook using file copy, then try some different methods.
    1st try using over the air method, 2nd try a different network, 3rd look at the summary thread of findings with os2 1st entry gives more tips... And if all else fails, security wipe and install fresh then go to app world with same bbid and reinstall apps then copy back media.

    thanks...will try by wireless first. we have robust home wifi...

    will post up results. nothing worth backing up on PB, so didn't bother doing that.

    Hi folks.

    just going for the d/l by wifi worked like a charm. Good ol' PB rebooted and is working great.
