My playbook will not locate my home network. It does locate other networks, and will connect when I turn my phone into a hotspot, but it doesn't show my home network as an option. The home network works on every other device in the house however. It started several weeks ago and I was able to get it to connect once but it's been at least three weeks now where it just hasn't found the signal. I've tried a bunch of steps, including deleting the saved network (never got it back after that no matter what I've tried). And now I've done a security wipe but it's stuck on the connect to wifi screen and isn't finding my network. Please help! Thanks!

    Try resetting your router.

My Playbooks sometime refuse to connect to saved networks also, try restarting you're home network and delete your home network from your Playbooks again and see it that works. This is a problem on all 3 of my Playbooks from time to time.

The home network no longer shows on the playbook, it's never shown up after I deleted the saved connection. Resetting the router also doesn't help unfortunately

In your wifi menu on your Playbooks where the pull down menu says "Available Networks" look at problem networks and see if your network is there. If not you may want to backup your playbook and do a factory reset. It sounds like something maybe corrupt with you playbook settings. I've wiped mine a few times and started fresh.

Did you do the hardware reset, e.g. hold down the power/vol up/vol down buttons til it resets? You could also try changing the router channel. Maybe you have some signal interference going on.

The factory reset didn't help. I just tried the hardware reset and that didn't help either

Thats really strange, a factory reset should clear up your problem. If your other devices still pickup your wifi signal then you playbook is faulty, and at this point I wouldn't know who could help.

So it was working reliably and quit suddenly? Anything special, like hidden ssid, on the router side?
Did you try to connect manually?

I agree. Strange. But what could fail hardware-wise that would selectively knock out that network?

The playbook wifi finds and connects to other wifi networks, just not my home one that I actually need it for. The home connection is just a regular wifi connection and I've tried everything possible to make it connect. I have no idea what to do, it's become a useless piece of equipment in my house and I'm about to buy a new tablet instead of dealing with this one.

This might sound stupid, but is wifi turned on on the PB?

Apparently as the pb can connect to a phone wifi hotspot but not the home wifi. I still gotta believe something is wrong with the router or setup. Is it an old router or fairly new one? G or n? Are all your other devices older or newer or a mix?

It really sounds like a Router issue. Do you have MAC Filtering turned on? If so it may be rejecting your playbook as a blocked device.

Just a thought; a few years ago I had a similar issue with a new laptop. Every computer in the home recognized and connected to my wireless but the new one did neither. Tried everything with not results until I changed the router channel. A software applications on on computer showed the number of users for each available channel and the industry default that I seem to remember as 11 had all but a few in the area. I changed to the one showing the least users and had positive results including faster consistent speeds, fewer Internet drops and the laptop recognized and connected.

My PB does have 1 wifi issue. I tether my phone to it as the phone plan has unlimited data plan, throttles at 5 gigs of for throttling at 10 gigs it costs an added $10. I use it when I found to the hospital and then forget to turn it off. When I start the PB wifi for some reason it uses the phone rather than the stronger home wifi in auto find and start regardless of which was last used. Sometimes I do not notice it until it hits the cap while watching a movie.

I'd rather have my problem than yours, of course. For those interested the unlimited phone data plan is with Wind mobile and I have there $40 phone plan. Yes, limited coverage area but where I go there is coverage as I only travel in the 416 and parts of the 905 area codes. Wife went to Ottawa this week and the phone worked there with no roaming.
