Is it just my PB? I always have Audio Boost ON. When I UNplug my headphones I get the big disclaimer popup window asking if I agree to having Audio Boost on. Wouldn't it make sense for that popup to occur when I plug in my headphones, not when I unplugged them?

I get it only when I enable it.. not after each time I plug in or plug out..

I get the pop up when I connect my HDMI from my receiver to my Playbook, and it has been a long time since I used headphones on my PB as well, so I don't remember when it occurs.

Mine does the same thing when I unplug the headphones, but not every time. It IS backwards and started on mine two updates ago. So at least in my case, it's not a 2.1 issue....

Yeah it's been the same for me even before 2.1. Pretty silly warning me after I unplug my headphones.

I was having the same problem but now the audio boost option has disappeared completely. Anyone else had this happen?

Wow! No. As a matter of fact, the headphone boost option on mine was turned off. Apparently I hadn't used headphones since the 2.1 update so I turned it on and played with my ear buds (plugging and unplugging) and cannot duplicate the problem. Hmmmm. Maybe mine don't do it anymore....since 2.1.

I don't know why the option has disappeared on yours. Have you tried plugging and unplugging to see if it somehow comes back? Maybe after a "hard boot"?

Update: Never mind....my Playbook is still doing it too....it's a little thing.

Yeah, I've tried everything, except a security wipe, which I suspect may be the only solution.

That sucks! I HATE security wipes! At least it's easy to drag and drop your folders, I just hate loosing your bookmarks. The last time I had to do a wipe I did a backup of the settings and such first using Desk Top Manager (everything but media which I drag and drop), did the wipe then restore and I was able to keep my bookmarks and it fixed the issue (I think it was the bridge email "flashing" thing....).

Sorry for the inconvenience but if there's another way I don't know it. Good luck

To enable the headphone boost on your PB go to settings and select Language,Country/Region and select US, then go to sounds and notifications and there you will see the headphone boost option. If you set the County/Region to UK then the boost option disappears.

That explains the American Revolution - the British turned a deaf ear to the plight of the colonies!
