I have a groupon deal for a 32Gb Playbook at $159 or a 64Gb unit for $199. I know nothing about the Playbook (OS version etc.). I have a Blackberry 9550 phone and wanted to see if folks thought either of these were good deals. Not sure if either will ever run OS10. Thoughts?

Those prices are excellent value for money, and, yes, the PlayBook wlll be able to run BB10. Whether it is right for you depens on what you want to do with it. it is excellent for media playback, has excellent sound and cameras and USB and HDMI out. It is very well suited for web browsing and social media. It does not have a lot of native applications. That situation is made somewhat better by the ability to sideload some Android apps, and BB10 may well improve the app situation as well. It is well supported (several OS upgrades) and excellent build quality.

I found that Office Depot now has the 64Gb unit for $149 after a $100 instant rebate. Out of stock but the rebate runs through Christmas. If I can get one, I don't see much downside.

Haha not here in Singapore, last case I got replacement of BB Playbook only last less than 1 month, but to repair the dealer quote $250 more expensive than buy new one.
And worst case is RIM couldn't do anything since dealer have the right to charge / quote any amount they want. That's why the PB selling is worst here compared to other tablets.

Went into Office Depot and they said that there are none in stock anywhere in the system and no estimated restocking date. This smells like a bait and switch as they first thing they did was try to sell me a nexus saying it was superior for only $50 more...of well, the rebate goes until 12/29. Maybe RIM will give them some more.
