I am trying to use Google on my PlayBook and I keep getting a 404 error.

It doesn't let me even finish my search, as I am typing it loads the 404 page

    Any ideas?

    Check your router's DNS settings.
    Clear your browser cache.

Most probably you are not connected to Wifi. Check if WiFi is on, and you are able to access other sites.

I was having the same problem last night. I couldn't figure it out. I ended up doing the search I wanted in the address bar.

None of the replies above are relevant -- I was connected to wifi, my cache had been emptied only hours before, and the modem/router posed no problem to the other dozen or so devices in the house connected to wifi.

What's notable is what the OP mentioned, and nobody picked up on: it does this in the middle of typing, before one even has a chance to hit Return.

I just checked -- I'm on bridge now, not wifi -- and the problem is still there. Hmmm . . .

Wow, just me and the OP have this problem? I find that hard to believe. FWIW, I'm on the latest 2.1 beta.

Maybe it was the telco servers local to your areas? Are you near each other?

I have had that issue a couple of times. I think I was using bridge. I'm using the current beta. Bing worked fine.

Instead of starting another thread does anyone know about error 22 when trying to launch appworld?

I got a new PlayBook 64 and gave my 16 to the wife. The 16 is now on her bbid and the 64 is on mine.

AppWorld will launch but after some use I cannot launch it and I noticed it only happens when clicking a link on a website to appworld. I then get the error 22. And have to restart my PlayBook.

I have been getting this same 404 error in the Google search box, seems like it tries to start a search while I am still typing. Did this on OS 2.0 and now on 2.1. Very irritating bug. Did all the clearing of caches. Tried with both native browser or SimpleBrowser, same error. Other sites seem to work ok.

    And updates on a fix?

Kinda sounds to me like a java issue. Try turning java off in settings and see if that makes a difference.

Have had this issue also. Typing into a Google search box, get part way and it's as if i hit enter. Have to back up and start over. It happens only rarely so i haven't been able to get a handle on what "combination of conditions" is causing it.

Yup, have experienced this. The Google bookmark on PlayBook browser is crap. Try, typing your search into the address bar and then hit enter.

Find a iPad or iPhone, smash it then restart your router.
