It's now almost working, I created my primary gmail calendar account successfully (again), but I've still got the same problem as before - appointments for 2014 aren't showing up unless they are recurring ones. Also, when I create a new appointment the option to create a gmail appointment is greyed out, so I can only make new appointments on the native calendar. Has anyone else had these issues?

Everything now resolved, it appears to be a problem with CalDav. I deleted all the my gmail accounts and recreated them using the method described by sad_old_man here

The only problem with that is that as soon as Feb hits, that too will not work. Google is dropping support for ActiveSync on all free gmail accounts.

EDIT: make in 2nd half of 2013. It seems Google's gone soft on Microsoft.

CalDav worked exactly how it should...for one day! Now it's back to not adding or editing appointments again...aaaahhhhhh!

Yup fwiw I reloaded my system today and now my Gmail calender won't synchronize, at least when using the default method. Said something like "not available, try again later."
