I liked the part where you reevaluated all the available tablets and choose the PB again.

Great that someone would go to so much trouble to get your PB back to you. That guy built up some good karma points.

There's some talk in here about using playbook as a bookend - you have a matched set!

Typical of Canadians, they just don't like to have something that does not belong to them.

I really agree that gadget lockscreens without a spot for "If found..." owner's contact information are probably counter-productive.

I for one, never lost anything and the first thing I ever lost was my playbook lol...

Yea, now I definitely have if found kinda stuff, slipped behind the 9900 battery door (even if remote wipe, they'd know its mines!) and cases inside playbook

I feel like the world is a tiny bit less ugly after reading your story.

My friend left his iPad2 in a cab in Toronto earlier this year, and no one ever returned it, sadly. He subsequently bought a Playbook and used it for a while, but ended up getting an iPad3 later. He gave his PB to me, and I've loved it to bits. It's been a wonderful partner to my BB phone. Also, one of the first things I did was create a 'If you find this tablet...' document just in case...

Canada has good carma. My wife and decided Niagra Falls Canada was the place for our 35th anniversary. I was hesitant but decided to take my playbook. We traveled light, no purse, backpack or bags. Fri and all day Saturday I keep it faithfully clasped under my left arm unless I was capturing some of the best pictures and videos I have ever seen. Saturday evening we we both a little worn out. We argued a little about going into an attraction or our room. It was enough of a distraction that I did not realize I had set my Playbook on a bench and walked away. Thirty five minutes latter I freaked when I realized my Playbook was not clasped under my arm even tough the sensation of it presence was still there. I walked another mile and a half talked to five different welcome centers, the casino lost and found and the Park police. My wife was half dead and completely worn out, I had to do the Kay Sara Sara deal, get some grub and call it a night. Then I had to not let it ruin our vacation. We spent sunday on the American side, it was a good day. If you get the chance do not pass up the opertunity to vista the "Cave of the Winds". Its roaring blasting water, wind and exhilaration. Monday morning my wife told me she dreamed I would be contacted about my preacious PlayBook. 10:30 am I looked at my phone and had a voicemail. The fantastic Canadian gentleman's girlfriend had found a Playbook on a bench. He waited 5mins and tried to give it to reservationist but was told that if she took it I would not likely ever see it and congratulations on his new PlayBook. He found my old business card that only had our info email that's not pushed to the phone. He contacted BlackBerry in an attempt to trace the serial #. Not registered? I think he found my posted phone# on Facebook. He had returned home to Montreal Sunday night. He asked me which shipper I preferred, he has a blackberry and would be lost without it. He spent $70 to overnight it to JAX Fl. Have I mentioned how much I like Canadians. We got home Tues afternoon and 10:30 Wed the FedEx van pulled I to the shop driveway. In the envelope was a box with a foam insert that looked like it was cut for a playbook in its case. Nobody is that good. I have renewed faith in mankind that we do care for our fellow man. I sent him a Corian "Aqualite" cutting board and a $100 check, cost $97 to ship and if Dany is ever near JAX he won't need a hotel. My Playbook was dead, put it on the charger unplugged it every ten minutes and the third time I had enough juice to bootup, then to the rapid charger and life is good.
