    Hi all,
I have been transferring files successfully to my 2 Playbooks from my PC for years. Now suddenly my Windows 10 computer won't allow me to connect either PB using the ip address. I am at work and don't recall the exact error message but I think it related to a security update to Windows 10 that is blocking it. Is there a workaround or do I have to use a USB connection?
If so, do I still have to reinstall the BB desktop every time I want to do a transfer?
Thanks very much for any advice.

    Gary

Just plug it in to the PC, if wireless transfers are not working.....
And maybe you need to "renew" the "trust certificate" for the wireless access??

Using wireless, here's the message I'm getting:
You can't connect to the file share because it's not secure. This share requires the obsolete SMB1 protocol, which is unsafe and could expose your system to attack.
Your system requires SMB2 or higher. For more info on resolving this issue, see: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=852747

I have a solution for LAN use only, if you are interested using an app on your PlayBook called Dukto and requires installing Dukto for windows on your PC. I use this method on my PlayBook to transfer/receive to my Windows 10 Laptop. You would have to send me a PM with your email address so that I can send you the PlayBook Dukto .bar file. You will probably not be able to find the app anywhere as it has been removed. It is a tad basic but it works pretty well.

EDIT! Guess it's impossible to use this as the OP has a broken usb port and the app cannot be sideloaded -- face plant for me!

Forgot to tell you that Dukto is multi-platform. Works on Windows, iOS, android, Linux, BB10---everything.

I'm using Windows 10, haven't had a problem until just recently and now my desktop doesn't stay connected to my playbook... when I plug it in, it picks it up showing a notice - it's connecting... then another notice - initializing storage... then brings up a last notice - error reconnect device and closes it out... I switched ports first, then changed out cables a couple times, then tried my other playbooks, all the same... I think my antivirus software is disabled, but can only assume that it's got something to do with Windows 10... any help would be appreciated.
