    They're probably just perfecting it.

It will release when it releases

    We have til the 29th

RIM never said February so they're not late

I love my PB as is

Did I miss any RIM fanboy excuses?

Yes, OS 2.0 will blow everything else out of the water

And promises count as promises only if they are on the notarized letterhead signed by the CEO and appostilled for the international release

A photo was posted from DevCon showing the new "My World" interface under 2.0 and the date on the interface was Feb 16th. You can come to your own conclusions.

I think it is a double edged sword. If RIM said they would release it on Feb 7th, and there was a problem pushing it out, then (because of their past promises), they would look horrible, even if they were just a day late it and they fixed it by Feb 8th.

Though, by not saying a date people can only rely on speculative dates and will only get disappointed as each date passes with no update. Ideally, I think, they should have at least aimed, internally, for a release date at the beginning of the month, or at least (hopefully they have, since the date hasn't passed by yet) the middle of the month. There will be a lot of disappointment within their PB customer base from now until the 28th, if they wait until the last Tuesday of the month.

Add to that, it is a difficult gamble to buy a product that a huge selling point is a OS that has not been released. I took that gamble over the Kindle Fire (at the time the same price), and don't regret it... but until I first used it, I was worried I may have made the same mistake as buying that HD-DVD player. I personally thing that having it out as soon as possible in Feb., or with a date of release, would put potential buyers more at ease.

If the update doesn't come on the 16th, I'm not going to use my playbook until the day it really comes out!!!

Exactly... I mean, give us a REAL DATE... So that way, the speculation can end & we can all just chill out & wait. That's it...
OR... we could just chill out & wait. Period.
Am I the only one tired of the rampant daily speculation on a release date?

Wouldn't it be safe to assume that it would launch on or after the 13th after seeing news like this?

And then we'll have even more rant threads if they miss that deadline.

Seriously, why not just "chill out and wait" even without a date?
    It'll happen when it happens.
We'll all get it at the same time.

This is the problem with 9 million speculation threads. Someone takes them seriously, then they're mad when their expectations aren't met.

They don't have to announce it. The millisecond it comes out, everyone will know.. And everyone will hit update within five minutes of each other. Approximately 850,000 updates.

Wow, you really think more than 150,000 people will just not want to update to 2.0?

Or they'll simply take longer than the rest of the users? ;-)

It is for sure a good browser. And at $200.00 for 7" tablet, can't go wrong.. But I think before end of Feb for os2 is ok by me..
