I am trying to download some apps from app world from my PB but it's not letting me do it due to above error. I tried to reboot the unit and no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Also, if that doesn't work..you could try a security wipe but that will erase everything on your PB, almost like reformatting a computer.
Back up your PB with Desktop Manager.
Security wipe at your own risk.
1. Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the Options menu
2. Tap Security from the listing on the left
3. Enter blackberry to confirm the security wipe, then tap Wipe Data
4. The BlackBerry PlayBook will then reset
5. Once the PlayBook restarts, the initial setup process will be presented. Complete these steps and enter the correct BlackBerry ID when prompted.
Attempt to download a chargeable app, enter password, cancel at payment screen. Should now work with any app. I think your log in times out but you are not prompted for your password when downloading free apps. You will be asked for your password to make a payment.
My first PlayBook did this a lot but was replaced due to fault but the new one has never had this issue.
Never faced this on 2.0, thought it was due to 2.1. Trying out wellard's fix.
Tried it out but didn't work. It got so bad that I got 7-8 apps which needed an upgrade but due to these BlackBerry ID issues they all failed. Finally, resorted to a security wipe and re-install ... no more error messages on upgrades.
Thank you wellard it worked like a charm. Really wasnt up for a wipe.
