So every device i've ever had that has had a touch screen has come with a few specs here or there. but when i look at the playbook, screen off under direct sun (or a flash light) im noticing atleast 5-6 specs of dust under the screen? can you guys check to see if you guys have it too? its not too bothersome because its not visible when the screen is off but it is still annoying.

Dust under screen is never normal. Exchange it. It happens to smartphones sometimes as well... Not a good thing...

Sometimes it happens during the manufacturing process, or if you got a lemon device with a loose screen that allows dust to get under it...

"are" and "you" aren't such challenging words that you must reduce them to one letter...

Keep exchanging. Seems to me that there is a problem when they are manufacturing with keeping the screen clean, or the gap between the screen is large.

It doesn't sound like dust under the screen is a normal thing or else more people would be posting about it. I've never had a Blackberry with dust under the screen.

It is too much money to let things like that slide, I say exchange it again.

i already exchanged still the exact same problem. what ar the odds i got two defective devices in a row. its probably a common issue as long as it happened before the seal and its not cause of s broken seal

Man that sucks even after 2nd exchange. I would have opened it right there. If the 2nd unit was that bad. I'd probably want a refund and try another store although they'd probably want to stick you with a restocking fee and if that was the case they would keep opening units until they got me one that didn't have dust under it.

That would annoy me to no end.

no one with a device has said they have nothing under their screen. you need a bright light source to see it like a flashlight or direct sunlight
    04-19-11 03:11 PM

A bright light source? Is this dust visible during normal use?
    04-19-11 03:12 PM
  23. tassadar898's Avatar
no that is why i dont want to keep burning through devices for a common issue that doesnt really hinder the product

The PBs from that store probably all came from the same batch and will most likely have the same problem, right? Like the guy who went through 5 at a Future Shop because they all had light leaking issues on the right side of the screen / dead pixels in the center.
