It's telling me to update to 2.01.358. Current version is 1.001 or something like that I believe. Should I do it? Or should I try to upgrade to a beta 2.1 version?
Also, PB takes a uber long time to charge and it dies real quick. Thats the one key problem thats not often mentioned as a con with the PB. Plus it takes like 4 minutes to boot.
I love this forum sooo much. Called my local OD and they will hopefully hold a 64g for me for pickup tomorrow. I would never have heard about, what I think is a tremendous deal if not for this post.
Even if RIM goes under this is a fabulous tablet and I will have no regrets.
that's kind of good advertising for RIM...PB price is cheap so more people are buying it, so more people can see what a great OS it is. And its even gonna kick more a$%&" with the next update!
Right now, my PB is downloading the 2.1.0.840 beta version. I had left my house earlier with updating of 2.0.1.358. Should I stop downloading the beta version? Would it be safe to update it to 2.0.1.358, then back up data and then upgrade it to a beta version?

The only way your downloading 2.1 beta is if you signed up for it. I'm assuming that if you signed up for the beta then you would know that's what your PlayBook is going to download.
To answer your question, yes. It is safe but it is also a beta so expect bugs

Yeah I signed up for it. My question is, will I be able to downgrade it back to a non beta version if I'm not satisfied with the beta version without doing the hard reset?

They're flooding the market to get the things seen. That's what Microsoft does with its new OSes - selling it for dirt cheap to attract attention and spread the word.
While searching for the Office Depot PB sale I saw this ad in my area. Why so many 16gb models and not 32 or 64 gig. Seems to be some repair shop is going out of business.
I have a 32 gb...other than the larger gb, what is the benefit to moving to the 64? The office depot by me has a couple in stock for 199.99.
The extra space is probably the only benefit. Other than having a spare pb you can lend to others for video chat (different bbid but then you have to repurchase apps).

I bought a 64gb keeping BB10 in mind. I also need more space to store movies/videos for offline viewing and I don't plan to root my PB in the near future.
Idk if I should wait and get a 4G playbook or get a 64gb (my second) in approx 1 hour. If I get 4G dont I need a data plan? Im leaning toward just getting the second one.
