Bring this ship on track though, I put some thought in to an earlier response to my question and there are plenty of cars being retrofitted with play books or PlayBook type devices in cars as a demo for bb10. Why doesn't RIM/BlackBerry just release a developers OS with the latest engine and let the crack very nation make it what we want? Wouldn't that sound like to cool project and allow us to get the OS we're craving, take some pressure off blackberry while we play with it and if the end product turns out nice, blackberry can release it to the masses. I can't see where anyone losses.

No because the 2342 OS file I have is still coded to the qc8634 chip in STL100-2/3/4 vs the winchester chip in the STL100-1

What confuses me most is that 2342OS files contains all device information from the playbook to the Dev alphas to Z10 (all variants) to Q10 and even has the HWID of the Q5. So why that build isn't taking to the device even with the base autoloader containing the proper HWID for the STL100-1 Is beyond me.

My nephew received one of these devices for Christmas one year:

They are supposed to be a safe way to open plastic packaging.
He cut himself trying to get the device out of it's own package.

Once the bleeding stopped we had a great laugh.
