Well, I should probably add that I am only hoping for BB 10 on PB because of currently crippled bridge for BB10 devices.
I have only used it once - just to see what it was about. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it does not sync older bb phones to Outlook??? Does it even sync newer phones to Outlook???
BB link replaces DTM and only works with bb10 devices unfortunately.

BlackBerry Link does work with the PlayBook. I have been using it to backup my Z10 and PlayBook.
When Desktop Software would not back-up my playbook, Link accomplished it easily. Will only use Link from now on with Playbook. It sucks waiting for a back-up to finish just for it to give an error with 15 minutes left. Link worked without flaw with no changes made to the Playbook.
I don't understand what the big desire for 10 on the PlayBook is. What major changes are expected? Maybe I'm just not getting it as I haven't used the Z10 (I'm holding out for the Q10). I can see the big advantages of BB10 over OS7.1 with the phones, but I'm happy with 2.1 on the PB. :huh:

People are hoping that bb10 on pb will restore sms and BBM to the pb, at least that's my hope.
The Browser is supposedly better. Also, there are the new apps designed for the newer OS that folks hope to be able to use on the pb.
BBlink DOES work w/ the playbook, but ONLY for transferring music, pics, etc.,,, it DOES NOT work w/ pre-BB10 phones,,, it WILL NOT (for me) do a backup,,, i use it to drag & drop music/pics as it's easier for me than checking tick boxes in DTM,,, i still use DTM for playbook backups, but be sure to set aside 30-60 mins, depending on size of drive & how much data/files are on it...
you can still sms on pb via bridge...

you're correct,,, BB10 bridge is broke, bad,,, but i think they were referring to the current state on the pb...
People want bb10 on the PB for the same reason as i do 'i presume'....better app selection.
dunno if there's a better selection, but aside from bridge, the whole reason i got a playbook was the "promise" of BB10, & the $150 best buy price didn't hurt either,,, if they don't bring it, my ASSumption will be they just said that to clear the shelves...
I would say more apps. Devs are lazy, instead of making apps on different platforms/software takes up more time. Devs will be more interested in making bb10 apps then optimising it for PB (like iphone and ipad apps) hence more apps.
