    Over the last three weeks I have purchased and returned two docking pods and one rapid charger. All had the same issue. They were discharging the battery instead of charging. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Many... it's a known issue, where the left-most pin (usually) is ever so slightly lower than the other two and that prevents it from making a solid connection and charging. There are many past threads about it here where we've studied it in depth and drawn a number of conclusions about various reasons and, sometimes, (poor) workarounds or difficult fixes.

    Returning them and growling at the store, so the feedback gets back to RIM faster, is your best bet. If you can show the store the defective pin and convince them it's a real, known issue, they might even return it to RIM instead of just repackaging it and trying to sell it to the next victim... call it a public service if you do.
